We recently released version 1.44.0 of the Bipsync Notes iOS app which is available for download here. The latest version contains exciting new features including advanced search functionality and custom spellcheck as well as some notable bug fixes.

Tokenized Search

The app’s search functionality has been expanded in this release, with the addition of tokenized search. In an approach that will be familiar to users of our web app, advanced search queries can now be composed from a combination of additive tokens.

This allows users to filter their research by the rich set of tags in Bipsync, and is the fastest way to find results for research that match a combination of terms. Users build up their search by adding multiple tokens to get granular search results, with simple text queries and any tagged object like companies, contacts, geography.

This makes it easier to locate specific notes or files, faster, which can be really useful when in a meeting or on the move. Here’s a glimpse of the feature in action:

Custom Spellcheck

In this release, we’ve added our own spellcheck which allows greater control over corrections than the iOS built-in autocorrect feature. In a similar method to our web app and popular word processors, incorrect words are underlined to highlight them. It also has a customisable dictionary.

Users can decide if word needs to be corrected — the app does not correct automatically. When a highlighted word is tapped, a menu of suggested alternative words will be displayed. If a highlighted word is correct but not in the dictionary, you can add the word so it is not highlighted in future.

Users that had previously used iOS’ built-in autocorrect with Bipsync Notes, will find the new spellcheck more customizable for specific industry language and abbreviations and easy to use. Users who prefer to keep iOS’ native autocorrect need not do anything – this is the default functionality. If you’d like to enable our new Spellcheck, this can be activated from the in-app settings menu.
