The release of RMS 211 has introduced a number of exciting new features to the Bipsync Research Management Software, including enhanced Slack automation, a tabulated ‘Related Projects’ widget, and a brand new calculation field. In this post we’ll focus on the benefits our new Slack automation offers end-users, but you can find out more about the other new features here.

New Automatic Slack Rules

We have long championed cohesion between the Bipsync platform and Slack to make it easy for our users to share data between both products. Our latest release signals the latest step in that journey, introducing a new Slack rule action that allows research to be automatically posted to assigned public Slack channels under user-determined conditions.

The new automation makes it easier than ever to share files, research notes, and other relevant data between teams, enabling better collaboration and faster access to necessary information.

Bipsync Rules Engine

An example use case of the Slack automation using our Rules Engine.

For example, if a file is shared with a specific User Group (in this case the Equities Team) in Bipsync, it will automatically be sent to a designated Slack channel (let’s call it #equities-research), notifying the appropriate parties that new information is ready and waiting for them.

The image shows how the note is shared to the dedicated Slack channel that is defined in the Rules Engine.

The same automation can be applied to capital calls, earnings calls, distributions, and more.  For fund managers, users can now automate the sharing of research notes, files, etc. to a channel for a given security (e.g. #AAPL) if the note is tagged with a specific ticker. But these are just a few examples – there are unlimited use cases that can now be supported with this Slack automation enhancement – saving time and resources and ensuring that relevant information is always shared with those who need it. This relieves the end-user of any manual follow-up actions as well as eliminating the risk of human error.
