RMS 222: Canoe Integration Improvements
Release 222 of the Bipsync Research Management System (RMS) is now available. Front and center are some updates to our Canoe Intelligence integration, but there are a number of other useful changes in this release too.
Canoe Integration Improvements
In this release we’ve taken the opportunity to address a number of requests from clients who have been making use of our integration with Canoe Intelligence.
Map multiple Canoe Investments to a single Bipsync Fund
Before now, “Investments” in Canoe and “Funds” in Bipsync were mapped on a 1-1 basis. This proved to be limiting because often multiple “Investments” will roll-up to a single “Fund.” We’ve removed that restriction in this release so as many “Investments” as necessary can be mapped to a given “Fund.”
Filter documents by any Canoe status
The initial release of the integration provided the ability to filter documents that were ingested from Canoe into Bipsync by checking to see whether the status of the document in Canoe was “Completed.” That said, Canoe documents can possess other statuses, like “Awaiting Confirmation” or “Duplicate,” and depending on the desired workflow, it can be helpful to reference such values. In this release, it is now possible for any or all of Canoe’s statuses to be used to filter the documents that are brought into Bipsync.
Contextual filtering of Completed documents when also filtering by document type
Should documents be filtered by their “Completed” status, now that restriction is contextually applied should a Document Type filter also be in effect. Some documents (e.g. Account Statements, Capital Call Notices) support the “Completed” status, whereas others do not (e.g. Compliance Documents, Investment Memos) — when dealing with the latter, we disregard the status filter to ensure that documents are able to be ingested.
Use the original filename if an alternative name does not exist
Canoe often offers a processed filename for documents, but this is not always available. In such cases, we will now use the original filename that was provided to ensure that a file always has a meaningful name.
