Bipsync is proud to announce Alzheimer’s Society as the UK charity partner for 2023-2024.
Alzheimer’s Society is the leading UK charity raising awareness and providing support to people living with dementia, and their families. Alzheimer’s Society also conducts vital research to better understand the disease and support work towards a cure.
The partnership will last for 2 years and aims to raise £5,000. Each £500 the Bipsync team raises enables a family to be supported by one of the Alzheimer’s Society’s Community Dementia Advisers, who provide face-to-face support for families facing complex challenges. Whether they’re supporting someone living with dementia, a carer, or an entire family, this support is invaluable when it comes to navigating the maze of dementia.
Why Alzheimer’s Society?
We believe it’s important to support charitable causes that make a real difference. Many of the team have direct experience of a loved one with dementia and have first-hand experience of the valuable work that Alzheimer’s Society does.
This includes providing information on hospital, respite and home care, advice on staying independent, peer support, legal and financial help, raising awareness of dementia and conducting and funding research.
Events, challenges and getting involved
At Bipsync we’ll be raising money by taking part in Trek26, a 26-mile hike across Wales’s beautiful Brecon Beacons, and Memory Walk, a little closer to home in Bute Park, Cardiff, which can be seen from our office. Our fundraising is already underway, with our People Operations Associate, Heather Perkins, planning a charity head shave next month! You can donate here and all funds raised count towards our company total: https://www.justgiving.com/page/heathers-head-shave-2023
We’ll also be planting forget-me-nots and sunflowers, recycling electronics and foreign coins, baking, hiking, cycling and who knows what else to reach our target! If you’d like to help please donate at https://www.justgiving.com/team/bipsync-alzheimers.
More about Alzheimer’s Society
By 2025, 1 million people will be living with dementia in the UK, and many millions more carers, partners, loved ones and friends will be affected.
Lauren Bromham – Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society said,
“We are so excited and grateful that Bipsync have chosen to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society for the next two years, by taking part in Trek26, Memory Walk, Heather Perkins’s head shave, and all the planned activities, this will not just raise vital funds to support people affected by dementia, but will also raise awareness, which is crucial too.
Alzheimer’s Society want to reach more people than ever before, and we want to reach them much sooner. People shouldn’t have to wait until a crisis to ask for help. If you or your loved one needs support, please visit our website (alzheimers.org.uk) or call our support line on 0333 150 3456, we are here for everyone affected by dementia.”
