We recently released version 1.43.0 of the Bipsync Notes iOS app which is available for download here. In this blog post I’ll showcase a couple of exciting new features including OCR document scanning and photo library image insert, along with some notable bug fixes.

OCR Document Scanning

Version 1.43.0 includes a feature often requested by our users: the ability to scan a text document such as a printed document, marketing materials or article using the devices camera. Bipsync identifies and extracts the text contents of the document and inserts it into a note body, with the original scanned document as an attachment of the note.

Here’s a glimpse of the feature in action:

This feature opens up opportunities for users to quickly capture, share and collaborate on research content from printed documentation in Bipsync, with just a few clicks. Give it a try and please let us know what you think.

Embedded Images

This release also introduces the ability to insert images to the body of a Bipsync note directly from your device’s photo library, directly from your device’s camera, or via copy and paste.

Once added, images can be repositioned within the note, and removed or deleted via a long press menu or the backspace key. You can take a look at the feature in action below:

More MDM Services

In this release we’re also please to announce the addition of Airwatch’s single-sign-on feature as a supported Mobile Device Management (MDM) service.

The Bipsync iOS Notes app now supports all key MDM services including integrations with MobileIron’s AppConnect, Airwatch and Microsoft Intune. Bipsync supports all app protection policies and security and management features within these services. If you’d like to learn more about any of these, or our approach to mobile security and SSO and get in touch!

More improvements and fixes

Other notable improvements that we’ve made to the app in this release include:

  • Improvements to the PDF annotation feature.
  • Adjustments to spacing when scrolling or filtering the note list.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent location data for companies from being shown.
  • Fixed a spacing issue when scrolling and filtering.

Working closely with our users they suggested many of the updated in this release, so we’re happy to announce the new set of iOS features. And, as always, please do contact us if there’s something you’d like to see in the Bipsync Notes iOS app.
