Release 157 of the Bipsync Research Management System RMS is out now. In this release we introduce a brand new application for managing your Bipsync configuration set-up; a new user-provisioning feature for clients with large user-bases, and – as always – numerous other bug fixes and enhancements.
The Setup App
Bipsync is renowned for its high levels of configurability. Many of Bipsync’s features, such as Single-Sign-On and PDF Annotations, are configured according to our clients’ exact requirements and the specific technologies and workflows they employ. In this release, we’ve made that process even easier.
We’ve introduced the Setup App – a separate web application for authorized IT administrators to directly configure multiple elements of their Bipsync instance with ease.

Whether you’re configuring SSO credentials, setting up Auto-associations, or enabling/ disabling certain features such as PDF annotations, a rich an easy-to-use interface guides you through each option. We’ve also included the capability to make changes in draft so you can test various configuration options and save and apply changes at convenient times.
All of this is set to further encourage our clients to explore and unlock the full configuration and integration potential that their Bipsync platform holds for their user-base.
User Provisioning
Building upon our single-sign-on feature, we now support the on-demand provisioning of Bipsync user accounts. Once a user has successfully authenticated with your SSO provider, Bipsync can then automatically sync key attributes like name, email address and job title to the user’s Bipsync account – creating one for them if one doesn’t exist.
This is all available via the Set-up App, where we’ve also enabled the ability to assign users to groups within Bipsync, and specify the role they should be given – that could be an administrator, read-only user, or a curator, for example. The role determines the permissions the user is given.
This all reduces the administrative burden for clients who manage their own user accounts, and encourages adoption by making it even easier for users to access the platform.
The Set-up App is available for Bipsync Enterprise clients – get in touch with your CSM or here if you’d like to learn more and enable at your fund.
