Bipsync is growing, fast, and we’re on the lookout for talented people to join us! During this process, we often get asked “What’s it really like to work at Bipsync?” So we thought we’d ask the people who know best – the team!
In this week’s Team Spotlight, we’d like to introduce Jack Corscadden…

Jack is a Software Engineer, who is about to celebrate his two-year anniversary at Bipsync. As a member of the Product team, Jack has various responsibilities ranging from developing new features and fixing bugs to implementing client reports or assisting with new client migrations.
Before starting at Bipsync, Jack gained work experience as a Junior Software Developer at Inspiretec – a Cardiff-based travel management company. Jack has a degree in Computer Science from Cardiff University, and his interests includes cooking, playing football (or ‘soccer’) and drinking Guinness.
We asked Jack about what it’s really like to work at Bipsync. Here’s what he had to say…
What’s your favorite part about working at Bipsync?
The best part about working at Bipsync is definitely the team. Especially as a junior developer sometimes I have days where I get stuck a lot and it’s great to know there are so many friendly people happy and willing to help me out.
What has been your most proud moment at Bipsync (so far)?
There’s usually something to make me proud most days, in the form of praise from team-mates or compliments from a client on a piece of work I was involved in. There’s never a sense that you’re working just for the sake of it, you’re always creating, improving or fixing something that will benefit the team or our customers.
Describe what your typical day looks like at Bipsync…
The majority of the day is spent programming, which is great. Depending on what team you are in you might be working on new features, helping clients set-up their system or fixing bugs. The teams also rotate regularly so you’re never stuck in one area for too long. We have regular meetings both professional and social and plenty of time making terrible jokes in Slack.
What excites you the most about working in a start-up environment?
Definitely the fact you are a much bigger part of the team than you would be in a larger company. The work you do has a comparatively larger impact on the company which makes it more satisfying.
What do you think are the most important qualities of a Software Engineer?
Curiosity and determination. Curiosity will help you pick up more information about some of the more advanced work being done to the system, improving your own knowledge. Determination is important because not everything you do will be the best way to do it, the important thing is to learn what you should do better rather than to be deterred.
What would you say is the most satisfying aspect of your role?
Positive feedback. It doesn’t matter if it’s from within the team or from a client, it’s always good to hear when you’ve done something good and both internal and external parties are happy to praise when something is done well.
How do you think your Bipsync colleagues would describe you in 3 words?
Friend first, boss second. Probably an entertainer third.
Any other takeaways about working at Bipsync that you’d like to share?
The way we’re treated as employees is amazing, especially when compared to some of the stories I hear from friends working in different industries. You never feel awkward if you need time off, you’re never forced to do anything you know is above your current skill set, you never feel embarrassed asking for help. Oh and the nights out are great!
The best part about working at Bipsync is definitely the team… sometimes I have days where I get stuck a lot and it’s great to know there are so many friendly people happy, and willing, to help me out.
