The Bipsync Research Management System RMS is now on release 128. This release is accompanied by a new version of the Bipsync Notes iOS app, which has been upgraded to version 1.27.0. There are a number of exciting features and improvements within these two releases:

Universal Links

The Bipsync Notes iOS app is peerless in the way it allows research to be consumed on mobile devices but it hadn’t supported a feature commonly found in iOS apps, known as Universal Links – until now.

As per this release, Universal Links allow us to launch the app to show content when the user taps on a relevant link. An example is in our subscription emails, which are sent out periodically and contain an overview list of note content that the user has requested change notifications for.

Now, tapping a link to one of those notes will launch Bipsync Notes if it’s installed on the device, directly opening the note within the native app. We’ll fall back to showing the note in Mobile Safari if the app isn’t installed, or if the URL doesn’t link to an accessible note.

Here’s a video of it the feature in action:

Faster Data Synchronization

We’re always exploring ways to make the Bipsync experience as smooth and efficient as possible. In the latest releases, we’ve  done this by further increasing the speed at which data syncs between the main Bipsync RMS app and the Notes iOS app.

The volume of our clients’ research often spans decades of work, and grows daily, so transporting that data to our mobile and desktop apps, when and where the client requires access, is critical and has long been a challenge.

Through a more efficient approach to data storage, we’ve enabled less data to be sent between the applications when a sync is performed, which results in a noticeable improvement to users’ with large research databases.

Other Improvements and Bug Fixes

  • The Dashboard Editor supports the editing / positioning of fields which are dependent on the values of other fields.
  • Bipsync’s API allows categories to be found by name.
  • Improvements to the way tags are displayed.

As usual, please get in touch with any questions about this Bipsync Research Management System RMS release, or if you have any feedback or suggestions about the Bipsync platform.
