Bipsync is optimized for investors to quickly and simply capture, aggregate and organize research assets (models, notes, files, contacts, external data sources and so on) from a single system of record.

Our powerful dashboard features are a critical part of this; it’s where our clients capture quantitative fields and add data visualization components that are specific to their investment processes.

In short, our dashboards bring what’s important to you front and center, and sync critical data points and/or third-party content with your positions and investment ideas. This means you can analyze and review critical information and related context in a single unified view, configured exactly the way you want it, for faster analysis and decision-making.

Going even further, all Bipsync dashboard components – input fields, visualization widgets etc. – are completely under your control,  meaning you can add, remove, re-position, re-size and configure individual dashboards for every type of content to suit your, and your team’s, preferences. Here’s more detail…

Configure Dashboards, Add Context to Data Sources

Configure individual dashboards for every and any type of content in Bipsync e.g. contacts, ideas, companies, themes etc., and optionally share fields across multiple dashboards.

This means clients can create a detailed dashboard with dozens of inputs for analysts, and another high-level dashboard with a number of aggregate values for portfolio managers – all from the same data.

So, whether you need a dashboard view of the top metrics and stock price chart for a company, or you want to aggregate 30+ data points with values from your PMS, Excel models or external data source (Bloomberg, CapIQ etc.), we’ve got you covered.

And, just like all content in Bipsync, dashboards make use of our common sharing models, so they can be shared with particular groups or users, or kept private, so that views of certain data sets are only accessible and visible to relevant team members.

All dashboard fields can, of course, be updated manually, or automatically via the API or the Bipsync Excel comment identifier system – opening up countless opportunities for you to aggregate data and display custom content for your fund’s specific requirements.

Chart Anything in Bipsync

You can also chart anything in Bipsync from your internal or third party feeds to display your fund data on your Bipsync dashboards and track/display changes to any field values over time.

The charting feature, first introduced way back in release 110 can be added to custom dashboards via the front-end Dashboard Editor.

Clients are able to add as many charts as they’d like to a dashboard, in different positions, sizes and styles, and display numerous overlapping plots on multiple y-axes from multiple data sources. For example:

  • Plot any type of chart from JSON, XML or CSV data in Bipsync fields or from your preferred data sources  – automatically updated via the API or Excel data sync.
  • Use aggregate data from your pipelines or companies to display charts, e.g. display a pie chart of how many Ideas are Long vs Short, or display changes in a fund manager diligence score  graphically over time.
  • Charts can fetch data on the client side from your local fund APIs, so the data never goes via the Bipsync servers, but directly from your API to your users’ browsers.

And there you have it, that is a very high-level overview of the functionality and configuration-levels of Bipsync’s Dashboard features.

There’s an awful lot more functionality than we can get to in this 400 word overview; with widgets that allow any objects to be listed and filtered within a flexible, customizable interface – the world’s really your oyster. Our dashboard grid widgets, for example, can be used to display companies, contacts, and any custom fund objects that you need, with column configuration, filtering, styling and file export.
So, if  that’s piqued your interest, and you’d like to learn more about how Bipsync dashboards with high levels of integration and configuration can help support your fund’s research processes, get in touch.
And as always, keep in mind that as Bipsync works in continuous development and delivery, our dashboard features are constantly evolving alongside our two-three week product release cycle.
